The Nanaimo Blues Society (the Society) is a BC registered non-profit society that was founded in October 2004 and is led by a committed volunteer board with a passion for Blues music and a desire to add to the culture and vitality of Nanaimo.
The Society presents the annual Nanaimo Blues Festival (Summertime Blues) in beautiful Maffeo Sutton Park, located in Nanaimo's Inner Harbour and features local, provincial, national and internationally renowned Blues musicians. The Society supports the weekly Sunday Blues Jam at The Queen's featuring different blues bands each week and a popular blues gathering place for blues patrons and professional blues musicians. The Society supports and mentors youth blues players and you can catch some of the finest emerging blues talent at the weekly jams!
Nanaimo Blues Society acknowledges that we are on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.
